Job Title:

Communications Volunteer
|
|
Objectives:
|
Draft and post messages regarding AASP activities to relevant channels (email, list serve, newsletter, Twitter, Facebook, Blog). Monitor feedback of assigned channels. Assist in crafting overall talking points. Monitor communications schedule for AASP.
|
|
Duties and Responsibilities:
|
Be available for posting on various channels as needed. Once a month meeting for scheduling and feedback of channels.
|
|
Qualifications and Requirements:
|
The Communications Volunteer should have:
At least three years of experience in Advancement Services
Excellent written communication skills
Experience in various communications media (email programs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Time to dedicate to this professional volunteer opportunity (approximately 5-10 hours per month)
Commitment to attend monthly telecommunication meetings and the AASP Annual Meeting
Must be comfortable in a team environment.
Must take initiative and complete assignments.

Lines of Communication:
|
Report directly to the Communications Chair. Work closely with fellow volunteers to complete assignments. Meet annually with volunteer community to exchange ideas and lessons learned.
|
|
Orientation and Training:
|
Read AASP by-laws; Be familiar with existing AASP messages, the AASP summit programming and other opportunities.
|
|
Time Commitment:
|
5-10 hours per month for the length of appointment: additional specific assignments as needed and agreed upon; as applicable: three days during AASP Annual Meeting.
|
|

Completing work assignment in a timely fashion is critical to keeping the committee's deliverables on track and the work of AASP moving forward, working with other committees to ensure messages are on point, schedules are followed, and timelines are created and met.
