Job Title:

Marketing Committee Volunteer


Objectives:

This committee provides expertise and resources to assist AASP with branding, public relations and marketing initiatives and strategies in support of AASP's strategic plan.  The membership is comprised of Board and non-Board members who are active AASP members.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop AASP Marketing messages and tools, including: AASP collateral materials & AASP protocol
  • Develop themes and messages for web and print advertising
  • Create external messages for AASP constituents and the public
  • Market research as needed to effectively reach the intended audience
  • Creation and management of content, including guidelines and standards that best brands the marketing messages?
  • Develop a marketing plan that increased the involvement of internal membership and promotes growth of new members

Qualifications and Requirements:

The Marketing Committee Volunteer should have:

   At least two years of experience in Advancement Services

   An enthusiasm for the growth and maturation of AASP

   Excellent communication skills

   Time to dedicate to this professional volunteer opportunity (approximately 3-5 hours per month), in addition to regular committee conference calls

   Commitment to attend monthly telecommunication meetings and the AASP Annual Meeting

   Must be comfortable in a team environment.

   Must take initiative and complete assignments

   Current AASP member

Lines of Communication:

Report directly to the chair of the Marketing Committee

Orientation and Training:

Read AASP by-laws; orientation call with chair of the Marketing Committee and member of the AASP Board

 

Time Commitment:

Monthly conference calls, additional specific assignments as needed and agreed upon; as applicable: three days during AASP Annual Meeting. Approximately 3-5 hours per month, in addition to regular committee conference calls

Challenges:

Completing work assignment in a timely fashion is critical to keeping the committee's deliverables on track and the work of AASP moving forward. Timely commitment to accepted assignments is important
