Job Title:

Technology Committee Volunteer

Objectives:


Assist with all aspects of technology management activities for the AASP.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:


The Technology Committee will work with the AASP Board Technology chair to help ensure that best practices for technology management are used by the AASP and that business process and systems will utilize technology to effectively further the goals of the AASP.

Assistance will be primarily provided in the areas of:

  Preparing an Annual Technology Plan that Integrates With the AASP Strategic Plan

  Assisting with Periodic Reporting to the AASP Board on Items Related to the Use of Information Systems

  Assisting and Evaluating the Business Practices of the AASP to Ensure the Appropriateness and Recommend Improvements

  Assists in Preparing Documentation of Systems and Processes

  Participates in the Evaluation and Replacement of Existing Information Systems Used by the AASP Including Software or Data Conversion Activities

  Helps Manage the AASP Web Site and Other Hosted Online Software Solutions Such as Email Communications, Collective-X Which are Used by the AASP for Information Sharing, Communication and Collaboration

  Understanding and Helping with the Management of Technology used for Social Networking Sites

  Data Analysis and Reporting on Items Such as Email Marketing Performance, Web Site Traffic and Other Information

  Management of Critical Information Assets such as Domains, Administrative Password and Related Information

  Helps Ensure that Best Security Practices are Followed

  May be required to do programming upon occasion.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience in Advancement Services ideally in providing software based information solutions to a diverse user community

Experienced in or willing and committed to learn:

o Online Software used to Manage Membership Based Organizations

o Basic HTML and Content Management Systems

o Understanding of Managing Information Systems Projects

o Understanding of Data Management Practices

Other General Qualifications:

Good Understanding of Technology and Willingness to Keep Abreast of Trends

Good Understanding and Knowledge of Using Hosted Software Solutions

Good Understanding of the Workings of Various Social Networking Properties

Data Manipulation and Reporting Skills

Experience with Microsoft Office

Time to dedicate to this professional volunteer opportunity (approximately 8 hours per month)

Commitment to attend monthly telecommunication meetings and the AASP Annual Meeting

Excellent communication skills

Must be comfortable in a team environment.

Must take initiative and complete assignments

 

Lines of Communication:

Reports directly to the AASP Board Technology Chair.

Works closely and meets with fellow volunteers to complete assignments

 

Orientation and Training:

 

Read AASP by-laws; be familiar with the goals and objectives of the Technology Committee; include other ideas for orienting the volunteer here.

Time Commitment:


8 hours per month for the length of appointment: additional specific assignments as needed and agreed upon; as applicable: three days during AASP Annual Meeting.
