Which aasp events have you attended? Please share anything memorable or meaningful.
I’ve attended Summit twice – first as a scholarship recipient in 2019 and again in 2024. The scholarship opportunity not only made it possible for me to attend but also allowed me to join a pre-conference session I wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise. It was a fantastic introduction to Summit as a first-time attendee and made it easy to come back.
Which volunteer roles have you held with aasp?
I’ve been a member of the Membership Operations Committee since 2024 and recently started co-chairing.
What motivates you to volunteer with aasp?
I’ve spent so much time absorbing and learning from the community and was looking for a way to more actively contribute to it. Volunteering seemed like a natural way to do that. Having worked in sectors that are more underrepresented in advancement operations, I hope I can bring a fresh perspective to help make
What do you hope to achieve in your current aasp position?
The Membership Operations committee takes care of much of the “nuts and bolts” behind aasp, from member retention support to data integrity and analysis. Beyond continuing that work, I’d love to find more ways to leverage our data to make the member experience smooth, engaging, and ultimately, meaningful.
How have you benefited professionally and/or personally by volunteering with aasp?
I usually attend events like Summit on my own, and as someone who’s naturally more shy and introverted, it can feel a bit overwhelming. Volunteering has helped me build connections with folks that made a huge difference in making my most recent Summit experience less intimidating.
Other than your volunteerism with aasp and your career, what are your interests/passions?
Real talk: I’m at that stage of life where, between work and home, most of my downtime is spent either doomscrolling or thinking about my family’s schedules. But when I do get actual free time, I love baking, hiking, and recently joined a rec volleyball league. I also enjoy trivia and puzzles – the NYT Games app is a non-negotiable in my morning routine.
