Dear Summit 2017 attendees,

As I reflect on AASP's 10th Anniversary Summit, I am overcome by pride and admiration for the rapid growth and development of our association. It is hard to believe that only ten years ago, a handful of hopeful advancement services leaders gathered with the shared vision of an organization that could provide the high-quality education, networking, and resources to both empower and advance our profession.

Fast forward ten years, and I am both humbled and honored to have gathered with over 560 friends and colleagues at our new venue, the Hilton Chicago, for our biggest Summit to date. It was great to see many new and familiar faces at the President's Reception – Celebrating 10 Years of AASP. Our celebration of success in the Grand Ballroom will be one of my fondest memories as AASP President.

Over the three days of Summit, I hope you enjoyed the pre-conference sessions and five tracks of educational presentations and panel discussions. During these days, we featured keynote presentations that challenged our current perceptions, and tapped into new ways of thinking to improve both our professional and personal development. Keynote speakers Jennifer Mulholland, Jeff Shuck, Nancy McKinney, and Lynne Wester, all delivered captivating presentations that engaged both our hearts and minds.

At our Annual AASP Recognition and Business Meeting Luncheon, we had the opportunity to celebrate our fellow member's achievements, and reveal our new AASP branding initiative. I'd like to extend my congratulations to Vicky Medlock, the recipient of AASP's special Volunteer of the Decade Award. It was with great pleasure that I also announced Lisette Clem, Wayne Combs, and Robert Weiner, have all been re-elected to three year terms on the AASP Board of Directors.

Between our educational programming, special events, and networking opportunities, I believe we embodied our new mission to; strengthen the field of advancement services and the careers of individual professionals by connecting, informing and empowering a network of current and aspiring advancement services leaders.

Thank you to every dedicated member, volunteer and staff, for making Summit 2017 a great success. I hope to see you all, and many new faces, at Summit 2018.
