September Message from the President
Wednesday, September 26, 2018
With the change of seasons upon us, I am looking ahead to AASP’s Summit 2018, our annual fall conference. This year the focus will be on learning and sharing best practices in advancement services for navigating change in our own organizations, no matter the nonprofit sector.
Our Summit 2018 speakers come from every corner of the country (and beyond) and every part of the nonprofit landscape, from environment and wildlife institutions to healthcare foundations, higher ed, and business intelligence companies. Through their presentations and in-depth workshops, we’ll tackle data collection tools, successful CRM transitions, the power of relationship building, how to construct efficient workflows, campaign reporting processes, prospect research, and more. Our partner, Bentz Whaley Flessner, will also introduce the results of our recent Salary Survey at the Annual Business Meeting. They will help us interpret the data and understand how the salary insights apply to our organizations and positions.
Summit, however, is much more than just a deep-dive into all things advancement services.
Summit is a chance to step away from the rapid pace and intensity of daily work and connect with those who uniquely understand your challenges and opportunities. It can be time well spent to view your organization and your own career from a big-picture perspective.
I hope you will join me this November for enlightening conversations, practical demonstrations, and welcoming gatherings that are sure to reinvigorate and inspire you.
Finally, as we approach the season of giving thanks, I want to thank you all for being passionate members of the advancement services profession and AASP. Through your work and dedicated volunteerism, you fuel the growth and success of nonprofits and set the path for their future stability. It is important work we do.
Enjoy the first days of fall and I hope to see you in Chicago this November!
