Anita Lawson, AASP PresidentDear members and friends,
One of the things I value most about AASP is the tremendous community of members we've built over the past 10 years. Today, many of those members live in areas that have been affected by natural disasters, particularly during the current hurricane season. We want those members and all members to know that you have AASP's support and our thoughts and best wishes go out to you.

  • If you have been affected by these natural disasters and need assistance with your AASP membership, please contact our headquarters office at or 312.981.6798 (weekdays, 9:00am – 5:00pm, CST).
  • All other members looking to help are encouraged to utilize the networking tools at our disposal - such as the AASP Member Directory, our LinkedIn Group, or the FundSvcs ListServ - to connect with fellow members, discuss charity groups you are donating to, best practices for supporting the affected organizations we work with, and more.

I am sure many of our members will show their support, just as AASP members have shown support for each other – in the form of teaching, volunteering, writing best practices, and connecting colleagues – throughout AASP's 10-year history. With that in mind, I hope you will join me next month at Summit 2017 for our anniversary celebration. Our expert-led program is sure to reinvigorate you and return you to your office with tangible tools and strategies to implement immediately. Our pre-Summit sessions will equip you with even more answers and tools to confront your unique challenges. It's going to be a great event, highlighted by a special edition of our President's Reception celebrating our anniversary. I hope we can all stand beside each other next month as we toast to the vitality of the advancement services profession and the organization built to support those within it.

Thank you and remember, without our members, there would be no AASP.
