Description:

Advancement Services is being asked to do more than ever before and we are asking whether our staffing models, our governance and our technology infrastructure are keeping up. The aasp Technology Committee's review of the 2026 aasp CRM Survey results revealed a story that goes way beyond CRM. We'll share with you the findings that took us by surprise, the issues that worried us and the trends that are emerging in our profession. From staffing and integration issues through to reporting, data governance, automation and AI readiness we'll look at what the results tell us about how institutions are managing their technology and what it all might mean for you and your institution.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key trends in CRM adoption, technology ecosystems, and operating models among Advancement Services organizations based on findings from the 2026 aasp CRM Survey.
  • Evaluate their institution's approach to technology governance, staffing, and data management by comparing current practices with survey benchmarks and peer institutions.
  • Recognize emerging opportunities and challenges shaping the future of Advancement Services technology and apply survey insights to inform strategic planning and technology decisions.

Speakers

Mark Walcott, AVP of System and Reporting, University of Houston

Lyn Rowland, Executive Director of Advancement Information and Technology, NC State
